Am I Afraid of Putting Myself First?

Am I Afraid of Putting Myself First?

Are you afraid of what would happen if you put yourself first? Last week on The Stress Less Show, I talked a little bit about reclaiming the word selfish and starting to put your needs first. If you saw that episode or read that blog post, I'm willing to bet there was a part of you that thought, “Sure, Carlee, that sounds great but I can't do that.” Putting our needs first, frankly for a lot of us, is scary because we are so used to putting ourselves last on our list. Well, enough is enough! We are facing that fear head-on because we deserve to take care of ourselves first. That is why I am so excited to have on the show this week Danielle Massi. Not only is Danielle the founder of The Wellness Collective and a holistic mental health therapist, but she is also my wonderful partner in crime and co-founder for a brand new transformative self-care conference called SELF(ish) Philly!

Danielle and I have…

Am I Being Selfish?

Am I Being Selfish?

How many times have you been called selfish? One thing I’ve found is that women often get called three things: fat, crazy, and selfish. Now, fortunately, there are so many amazing companies and individuals - nutritionists, health coaches, fitness trainers, therapists, you name it - that are doing incredible work reclaiming the word crazy and standing up for body positivity. But what about selfishness?

The truth is when most people call someone selfish, what they really mean is the word narcissist. Here’s the thing though, being selfish and being a narcissist is NOT the same thing. Being selfish is all about putting your needs first and making sure that your cup is overflowing so that you can give more to the world.

So this month on The Stress Less Show, we are reclaiming the word selfish because we deserve to put ourselves first!

How Floating Can Improve Your Wellbeing

How Floating Can Improve Your Wellbeing

Okay, I can hear you now: “Floating? Carlee, what are you talking about??” I’m talking about float therapy! This month, I’ve been talking about treating ourselves this holiday season on The Stress Less Show and when I say treat ourselves, I don’t just mean eat an extra piece of pie at Christmas dinner! I’m talking about really listening to what we need to take care of ourselves. The holidays are a stressful time of year and there are always stressors that threaten our personal well being. We all need to find ways to step away from the holiday madness and really devote ourselves to our health and well-being. That is why I brought on Keri McGinn, owner of Halcyon Floats, to talk about how we can start taking care of our well-being and how float therapy can play a role in our self-care…

How to Treat Yourself and Shop with Intention

‘Tis the season to treat yo self! Now that we are officially in the last month of 2019 (the last month of the decade!), the holiday season is here which means we are in a giving state of mind. While we may spend hours rushing out to buy presents for our friends and loved ones, when was the last time you gave yourself a gift? This month on The Stress Less Show, we are talking all about how we can treat ourselves for a change and head into the new decade committed to taking care of ourselves and who we want to be. I am so excited this week to have personal stylist, Susan Padron, back on the show to share her tips for treating ourselves and transforming ourselves through our style this holiday season…

How to Find Yourself

How to Find Yourself

You have to love yourself before you can love anyone else. How many times have we all heard that before? It may be a cliche but truly knowing yourself and accepting who you are is a critical part of a healthy relationship. This month on The Stress Less Show, we’ve been talking all about relationships and this week’s episode was all about the most important relationship we have in our lives - the one we have with ourselves - because the relationship we have with ourselves affects everything else we do.

That is why I brought on Personal coach and orgasmic meditation trainer, Sofia Lloyd, to help us work on our relationship with ourselves by giving us tips on finding ourselves when we are feeling out of touch with what we want and need…
