Work On The Brain...

Ever wonder why you have trouble putting work down at the end of the day? Or struggle to let go of work related thoughts once your workday is done?

It could be that this work is your soul's purpose.

AND, it could also be that you're trying to avoid another area of your life.

Can I ask you a favor? Can you take a moment to really connect in with yourself?

Let's get real for a second.

Are you working late or long hours because you believe that the work you're doing will make a positive impact on the world?

Or are you working those hours because this work has the potential to make a positive impact on the world AND there's something else in your life that you don't want to face?

Are you working to escape another part of your life?

Work as escapism is something that's incredibly common and yet it can be incredibly painful.

Because it perpetuates the problem...

The more we avoid that painful piece of our life by working, the more painful it is likely to get and the more stress we are likely to feel.

But here's the real tricky part...

Figuring out what the hell we are avoiding to begin with.

And I'm not talking about surface level stressors like your partner or the dishes, I'm talking about what you are afraid of deep down. What is really causing you to feel like if you stop working, everything will fall apart... What is really causing you to feel like if you did that one last task, everything else would fall into place (even though you know that's not true)...

It's easy to overlook what is causing us pain when it has become part of our day-to-day life. It can be easy to see this pain as the status quo and convince ourselves that our pain is normal and is something that we cannot escape from.

But the reality is, the painful status quo doesn't have to be your reality.

The challenge of figuring out why we, uniquely, are turning to work as escapism is exactly why I ended up creating The Stress Less Method.

Step numbers two, Identify Your Blocks, and four, Remove Your Blocks One by One, of The Stress Less Method, are powerful because they finally answer the question, what am I trying to escape from AND how do I step out of the crazy making, workaholic cycle? They put us back into awareness and allow us to take action to heal.

To heal what's been stuffed down and long ago forgotten.

To return to the nurturance of self and as a result, to heal our relationship with work so we can, from a place of integrity and love, finally create the impact and income we've always desired.
