The Kübler-Ross Change Curve

Do you know what lives at the intersection of loss and stress?

Change.

As creatures of habit and routine, we humans often HATE change.

It makes many of us squirm in our seats just at the thought of it.

And, yet, change is the only constant.

Ironic, huh?

Luckily for us, we've had some badass social scientists do some research on change to help us better understand and navigate it.

One of my very favorite contributors to our understanding of change is the Swiss-American psychiatrist Elisabeth Kübler-Ross. Kübler-Ross created something called the Kübler-Ross Change Curve in 1969 (see below).

The Kübler-Ross Change Curve gives us a deeper understanding of how we are likely to feel and behave in the face of change.

And an informational tool like this is powerful because once we identify where we are at on the curve, we can then begin taking action to calm our nervous systems and accelerate our journey into integration that much faster.

This is where The Stress Less Method comes in...

  1. Manage Your Energy (i.e. stress response)

  2. Identify Your Blocks

  3. Create a Plan

  4. Remove Your Blocks One by One

  5. Embrace Grace

You see, The Stress Less Method supports us in taking deep nurturing action so we can integrate change into our routine that much quicker.
