I have a theory...
A theory that at the end of the day we are all spiritual beings that just so happen to live in the physical world.
A theory that our bodies are simply vessels for our souls. That our bodies are tools that support us.
I mean, imagine navigating this world without a body...All of a sudden all we are is consciousness, but no one can hear or see us (except maybe other souls?). And if that were the case, I don't know about you, but I'd be knocking shit over too (you know like the ghosts we see in the movies).
SOMEONE LOOK AT ME. HEAR ME. HELLOOOO?!?!
*knocks book off an end table*
Side note: I'd also probably find myself laughing so hard at the poor people I scare unintentionally.
Anyway, back to the point. My theory is that we are all spiritual beings living in the physical world and in order for our spirit/soul/higher self/etc. to thrive, the body needs to be well taken care of.
If the body is a tool, we can think about it another way...
For instance, let's think about our favorite kitchen knife. We need this knife to prepare food and, without even thinking about it, we use it every single day. We don't sharpen it. We put in the dishwasher even though there is an engraving on the side that says 'Hand Wash Only'. We use our knife everyday, but we don't take care of it.
What happens over time?
You got it...The knife becomes dull. The job of cutting food suddenly becomes that much harder.
The same thing goes for the physical body - we use it everyday, but are we taking care of it?
Are we taking care of the tool that allows us to manifest - to bring to life - the ideas and passions of our spirit?
Food for thought…
So as we step into this week, what can you do to take care of the tool that is your physical body? What are you excited to do to take care of your physical body?
