How to Become Unstoppable

On the go? Listen to The Stress Less Show as a Podcast!

Holiday time is the perfect time for some self-care! Especially this holiday season with everything being so out of the ordinary, finding ways to focus on taking care of yourself is so important. Fortunately, my guests on this week’s episode of The Stress Less Show, The Unstoppable Sisters Logan Reed and Anna Mumaw, have a few tips and free gifts to help you start bringing a little more self-care into your life so you can treat yourself right!

Logan and Anna have walked the walk and talked the talk when it comes to changing their life and taking care of themselves! After feeling completely stuck and unfulfilled in an HR job for 15 years, Logan first worked with a coach to find a sense of joy and a new career direction. This journey is what led her to realize she had so much more to give to the world.

When I sat and got really quiet and thought about what I have to offer to other people and women in particular, it’s how to be unstoppable. That’s my immutable truth.
— Logan Reed

Tapping her sister to join her, Logan and Anna came together to create their company, Call Me Unstoppable, where they are now helping others tap into their power and intuition to live more unstoppable lives. In the spirit of the holidays, they’ve come on to the show with some tips and a few free downloads you can use right now to start creating your own unstoppable life!

Tip #1: Create A Treat Jar

I am a big fan of Logan and Anna’s first tip because it is a perfect way to start incorporating a little more creative stress reduction into your life! Creative Stress Reduction is any activity that allows us to move out of fight, flight, or freeze mode, and into a state of play and flow. It is a powerful tool in your self-care toolbox! However, a lot of times, the days when we need self-care and creative stress reduction the most, we are often too stressed and overwhelmed to come up with activities we can do. A treat jar can help with that!

What is a treat jar you ask? It’s an actual jar! That you fill with self-care activity ideas written on slips of paper! Boom! By creating a jar with ideas now or at a time when you are in a more neutral frame of mind, you give your future stressed-out self the gift of options.

Do it when you’re feeling good and then you’re all prepared when you’re not feeling good. When you need a boost, you can reach into your jar and pull out until you find one that fits.
— Anna Mumaw

Having your jar allows you to take brainstorming out of the equation every time you feel overwhelmed. You already have ideas waiting for you!

Tip #2: Write a Permission Slip

Logan and Anna’s next tip comes with a special download created just for you! Often, a big part of what causes our stress is our own self-critical thoughts and the pressure we place on ourselves. That is why Logan and Anna create a permission slip designed for you to write down something you want to let go of.

It’s a gift from love and compassion for yourself that you’re letting yourself off the hook… I don’t need to be perfect today. I give myself permission not to be perfect.
— Logan Reed

Self-compassion can transform the way you approach stressful situations and the permission slip is a great tool to use to remind yourself to hold space for your emotions, your feelings, and everything else you experience each day.

Tip #3: Create Your Self-Care Checklist

Finally, Logan and Anna have created a super useful self-care checklist (snag it here) that you can use to stay focused on the most important things you need to do for yourself.

It’s just a really good way to track in real-time and keep yourself accountable. Am I doing the things that I said I was going to do for myself?
— Anna Mumaw

Often, we overlook and forget to keep ourselves on track with our basic needs like sleep and getting enough water. And these are the basics that provide us with the foundation to show up as our best selves each day! A checklist of these things can be an excellent place to fall back on when life gets challenging.

Stay focused on the basics and take care of yourself. The more you tune into your self-care, the more you can give to the world. And there’s no better time to give yourself the gift of self-love and compassion!
