Leaving Someone On Read

Time certainly is an interesting thing, isn't it?

I know it's only been one week since I last wrote you and yet for some reason it feels like it's been forever.

Maybe it's because of the weekend or the fact that time really does fly when you're having fun or maybe it's something else.

I will say though that this past week I was able to see some friends that I haven't seen in a while and it felt really great to catch up and see their beautiful faces.

Like really good.

All I'm saying is that if you have found yourself working so much that you're not able to see your friends or you're making someone wait so that you can respond to that one last email...

That it's totally okay to not end your workweek (or work day for the matter) on inbox zero or with a completely finished to-do list.

And I want you to know that if you've created a business and life with these standards - inbox zero, completed to-do list, etc. - you are not alone. So many people have created lives like this too. It's what happens when we're told that we're only worthy of love if we're productive.

So many people experience the deep anxiety of leaving someone 'on read' or not getting that last task done.

You are not alone.

AND it doesn't have to be that way.

Hanging out with loved ones or friends is an incredibly important part of running a business (or being any sort of leader for that matter).

Not only does it have the potential to recharge your battery (depending on the person & connection), but it can also make space for creative ideas to flow that can make you and your business more prosperous...

Taking time off enables us to come back to our work recharged and, believe me, our clients and potential clients know when we're exhausted or energized.

Can you take a guess at which version of you they want to hire or work with?

I don't have to break it down for you and quite honestly it would be insulting if I did because you already know the answer.

Take time with your friends this week.

Take time alone if that's what you need.

Take time to step out of the story that being productive somehow makes you more lovable.

Simply put, take time for YOU.

Because, as you know, it's for the greater good of all, including yourself.

With so much love,
Carlee
