On the go? Listen to The Stress Less Show as a Podcast!
This week on The Stress Less Show, Julia Katsivo and I talked about how to reduce overwhelm in business. You know when something comes up and...
...your anxiety goes completely through the roof and the only thing you know to do is either hide under the covers from everything we need to do or do a million things to try to fix the problem at hand.
This is, to be fair, just your fight, flight or freeze response taking over and IT'S TOTALLY NORMAL.
Regardless, this week on the show Julia shared an alternative approach to overwhelm that I absolutely love. Rather than just accepting that we need to have a million and one things on our plates - as leaders, as business owners, etc.- we can CHOOSE to ground ourselves and do LESS.
Yep, I said 'do less.' Hear me out.
Julia mentioned that one of the reasons that leaders end up experiencing overwhelm more is because they have too many priorities.
And weirdly enough somewhere on my journey I learned that the word "priority" was actually never meant to be plural. If everything is important then nothing is important, right?
Julia's point exactly.
So here's what she recommends...
Choose your top three priorities for a designated period of time (monthly, quarterly, annually, etc.)
One priority for business.
One priority for personal.
And one priority in the 'other' category.
So, I'm curious. What are your priorities right now?
